These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of services from Lost in the Reads (“we”, “us”, “our”) including purchasing books, merchandise, booking events, and membership in our book club. By using our website, visiting in store, or otherwise engaging in our services, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, please do not use our services.
Lost in the Reads is an independent bookshop and co-working space in Kingswood, Bristol. We sell new, curated books, graphic novels, merchandise, host events, and run book and writing clubs.
You must be at least 18 (or have parental/guardian permission) to place orders or commit to memberships.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account or ordering.
You are responsible for protecting your login details if applicable.
When you place an order, you’re making an offer to purchase subject to these Terms. We may accept or refuse orders (e.g. if an item is out of stock).
Book Club membership is monthly, costing £20/month, including one selected book, special merch, discounted event tickets, and other extras.
You may cancel at the end of any month period with reasonable notice. Refunds for membership will not be pro-rata mid-month.
We offer events (in store or online) which may require ticket purchases. Tickets are subject to availability.
If you need to cancel a ticket, please notify us at least 24 hours before the event. We’ll process refunds in accordance with our refund policy.
If we cancel an event, we will offer you a full refund or credit.
Members are expected to attend at least one meeting each month (in person or online).
If a member misses three meetings in a row without giving a valid reason (e.g. sickness, emergency, prior notice), we reserve the right to cancel their membership.
Rejoining is possible (space permitting) with fresh sign-up terms if membership was cancelled.
Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
Payment for goods, memberships, and tickets must be processed through our accepted payment methods.
For online orders, we will charge your card once the order is confirmed.
If you choose home delivery, we’ll strive to dispatch orders within a reasonable time (usually within [insert typical dispatch window, e.g. 2-5 business days]) unless otherwise stated.
If you choose in-store or click-and-collect, we’ll hold your order for a reasonable time (e.g. 7 days) and then may release it or refund if uncollected.

In short: damaged, faulty, or incorrect items can be returned for full refund or replacement.
Items kept merely by change-of-mind can be returned within 30 days if unused, undamaged, in original packaging, subject to proof of purchase.
All content on our website (text, images, designs, logos) is ours (or properly licensed) and protected by copyright.
You may view it, share it, maybe use snippets, but you must not reproduce or commercially exploit content without our permission.
We do our best to ensure descriptions and prices of books, merch, events are correct. However, should errors occur (price, availability, typographical), we reserve the right to correct.
Other than in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct, our liability is limited to the value of the goods/services you purchased.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll notify you via the website or email. Your continued use of our services after changes means you accept the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
