What will my subscription include?

What we do:

  • We curate book selections based on the recipient's reading tastes; no two subscriptions are the same!
  • All our packaging is fully recyclable, including the stickers
  • Our boxes are sustainably produced and sourced locally
  • We donate one book to Book Aid International for every subscription purchase

 

To help us curate the best subscription box, we'll need: 

  • A link to the recipient's Goodreads account (if public)
  • Or an image of their bookshelves
  • Or a list of their favourite books from this genre

So, how does it all work?

Pick the book subscription that feels right for you (or for someone special). If you’ve bought it as a gift, the first parcel will include your personalised gift message, you’ll add this during checkout. After checkout, you’ll receive a short questionnaire to help us choose the perfect books. Just fill it in, and we’ll take it from there!

How do I pick my books? 

We offer a curated book service designed just for you. Using the information from your completed questionnaire, we handpick the perfect titles to match your mood... stories that wrap you in a cosy blanket, open a window into another world, or split you open emotionally (in the best way). Whatever kind of reader you are, we’ve got you covered.

If you ever want to update your preferences, just send us an email with your full name and delivery address to hello@lostinthereads.co.uk and we’ll take care of the rest.

What if I already have the book?

It’s rare, since we do our best to introduce you to titles you may not have discovered yet. But if it does happen, don’t worry, just get in touch with us within 3 working days of your delivery, and we’ll arrange a replacement. You can reach us at hello@lostinthereads.co.uk

When will my first box arrive?

We know waiting for book mail is agony, but it’ll be worth it, promise. Your first box will usually arrive within 5–7 working days after we receive your completed questionnaire.

How often will I get my subscription?

Your parcels will arrive monthly, each one lovingly packed with new reads chosen just for you.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Of course! Life happens, and we get it. You can pause or cancel your subscription any time after your 3-month minimum term. Just email us at hello@lostinthereads.co.uk, and we’ll sort it for you, no fuss, no guilt.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Right now, we only ship within the UK. But who knows what the future holds, we’re working on it!

Can I choose the books myself?

Not this time... the fun is in the surprise! You tell us what you love through your questionnaire, and we’ll pick the books that fit your taste perfectly.

What if I don’t like a book I receive?

That’s okay, not every story is for everyone. We’d still love to hear your thoughts. Send us a quick note at hello@lostinthereads.co.uk and we’ll see if we can tweak your preferences for next time.

Are the books new or pre-loved?

All our books are brand new, sourced from our trusted publishers and distributors.

 

Delivery Information

  • All subscription prices include tracked delivery within the UK Mainland, Jersey, and Guernsey, no hidden fees or surprises. At the moment, we don’t offer international shipping for subscriptions, but we’re working on it.

  • We’ll send your parcels to the delivery address you provide at checkout, so please double-check that it’s correct before completing your order. If the address is entered incorrectly, any costs for redelivery or replacements may need to be covered by the buyer.

  • Once your parcel has been delivered according to your instructions, we can’t accept responsibility for any loss or damage that occurs afterward.

  • We always aim to deliver within the timeframe stated on our website, though occasionally delays happen that are outside our control. If that ever occurs, we’ll make sure your delivery arrives as soon as possible.

  • If you’re moving or need to update your delivery address, please let us know at least one month in advance so we can make sure your books find their way to the right doorstep.

When you buy a subscription from us, we  donate a new book to Book Aid International on your behalf. Your contribution will  support education and literacy development across the world.
