Where is Lost in the Reads?

We're an independent bookshop in Kings Chase Shopping Centre, Kingswood, Bristol (BS15 8LP), serving Kingswood, Hanham, Staple Hill, Emersons Green and the surrounding areas.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes — all our events are booked through our online box office. Spaces are deliberately limited, and popular sessions like children's storytimes and author nights often sell out, so we recommend booking ahead rather than turning up on the day.

How much do your events cost?

Children's and family events are ticketed from £3. Author events are ticketed, usually with the option to add the author's book when you book. Our book clubs run on a £3/month membership.

What ages are your children's events for?

We run two strands — gentle sessions for babies and toddlers, and bigger adventures for children aged 6 and up. Each event listing says exactly who it's designed for.

How long do events last?

Most events run between one hour and 90 minutes.

Do I need to have read the book before an author event?

Not at all. Author nights are about hearing the story behind the book and meeting the writer — come whether you've read it or not. You can add the book to your booking if you'd like a signed copy.

Do you run events for adults too?

Yes — alongside our family events, we host author evenings and two monthly book clubs (Romance and Romantasy/Fantasy) for grown-up readers.
